Waist Entry

Bay Search and Rescue Team required a suit which their team could put on without assistance from others. The Northern Diver waist-entry drysuit system provided the solution. Their need for a clearly visible, breathable drysuit was easily solved with our readily-available breathable high-vis orange fabric.

The design consists of:

  • Waist Entry Drysuit manufactured from breathable membrane fabric in high visibility orange
  • A Yamamoto super-stretch neoprene neck seal and Rubbatex neoprene wrist seals
  • A purpose-designed shoulder lightstick pocket
  • A Bellows Pocket pocket on each thigh
  • Kevlar® reinforced padded knee patches
  • Fitted latex socks
  • ND special Lightspeed 877 reflective printing on arms and legs

Again, as standard, this drysuit was supplied with internal braces, sealed-for-life seams, storage/carry bag which opens out as a changing mat and a maintenance/repair kit.

Northtech-5 Breathable Fabric

Breathable membrane fabric

Derived from our work with the UK Ministry of Defence to supply military divers with a lightweight, yet reliable, breathable fabric.

The comfort provided by NorthTech-5 fabric ensures heavy work can be carried out by the wearer without compromise.

Despite being a lightweight fabric, Northtech-5 withstands the rigours of tough use, especially when enhanced with Northern Diver Kevlar® reinforced panels in vulnerable areas such as the backside, elbow and knees.

In conclusion, the lightweight and breathable benefits guarantee comfort for the wearer whilst clever design and manufacturing ensure a hard-wearing suit.

Your Specification, Our Expertise

Case Study Spec Image

Once our design team had completed the drawings to the specified requirements the customer was given the opportunity to review the final suit design prior to manufacturing.

In this case the decision was made to include the team’s name in the shoulder Lightspeed 877 reflective printing and to also print their crest on the drysuit chest.

Manufacturing took place within the designated time-space and the suits are currently in use with the Bay Search and Rescue Team.
