Cow's Tail PFD Jacket

UME Version

The specification for this drysuit derived from close consultation between UME and the Northern Diver design team.

The design consists of:

The standard Northern Diver Rescue 800DB Personal Flotation Device with crotch straps and cow’s tail.

Main body manufactured from 8oz Ripstop nylon. Manufactured by Red House, China; 100% nylon, Oxford with 3 acrylic coatings.

Main body 40mm Winboss EPE Foam

Turnlock buckle, Fixlock 350 with cord pull

50mm nylon chest webbing to A-01 test standard 2007*

Yellow polyurethane webbing - 38mm wide*

25mm nylon crotch webbing to A-01 test standard 2007*

Black 1 metre long Cow’s Tail is 50mm webbing, sewn and turned with 15mm elastic (joined short to form a convoluted shock absorber).

Dual karabiners for cow’s tail attachments.

*Conforms with EN14362-3-2003 & S64 LFGBBVL B 82.02-09:2006 with a full chemical analysis certificate.

Once our design team had completed the drawings to the specified requirements, the customer was given the opportunity to review the final suit design prior to manufacturing.

In this case the decision was made to include the UME name on the removable shoulder reflective panel. Manufacturing took place within the designated time-space and the jackets are currently in use with UME.
