Equipment Matters, June 2007
This Semi-Tech combination comprises a full suit, over-shortieand separate hood. I was testing a suit which was a size too small for me - that said, the super-stretch material forgives those with expanding waistlines and once in the water loosens up.
The DeltaFlex also has an internal vest, which covers to torso from the neck to the waist, preventing flushing through the suit and providing an extra level of thermal protection. Flushing is further prevented by the Smoothskin ankle and wrist seals, which proved to be very effective underwater.
As with the full suit, the over-shortie features good-looking stretchy panels at the shoulders. Both the suit and the over-shortie have blue side-panels and slashes of red silver near the rib cage, giving it a young and funky look.
In the water, the suit was comfortable - although I was still kicking myself for not having requested the correct size suit - and did the job of keeping me sufficiently warm.
Overall, this combination is up to the job, providing both thermal protection and a good look. I particularly liked the stretchy shoulders and the effective wrist and ankle seals.

THE LOOK: The bright royal blue catches the eye, which is sure to make this a favourite with any photographers looking for suitably clad models.
