Flectalon, reflecting a diver’s heat back to the body.
Flectalon is a lightweight, high performance insulating material designed to reduce air movement and reflect thermal radiation.
Flectalon retains its insulative qualities when wet or compressed and the quilt construction retains thermal integrity throughout the life of the garment. Regular insulators breakdown after frequent washing. Flectalon outlasts all hollow-fibre undersuit insulators.
Available exclusively from Northern Diver, Flectalon undersuits are changing the way divers insulate themselves from the cold.

What the press say ...
For most of my UK diving I use a compressed neoprene drysuit with a Pertex nylon undersuit. This keeps me relatively warm in water temperatures above 10oC. Below this temperature more thermal undergarments such as a fleece sweatshirt are required. When Northern Diver told me it had produced the warmest undersuit ever manufactured, I thought that it required testing. I chose the Flectalon 300 (the thickest) option and dived in chilly Northumberland waters of 11oC. Donning the suit, I immediately notice a crunching sound, it is made from some kind of metallic material. The second thing I noticed was that it was warm, very warm. By the time I arrived on site I was dripping with sweat. However, as soon as I entered the water the thermal properties came into their element. After 80 minutes I was still warm, although my fingers were starting to numb. I completed two more dives that day of similar length and remained very warm throughout. Finally, taking off my drysuit, I found I was quite damp underneath (due to a slightly leaking dump valve). I hadn’t noticed this at the time, so the undersuit appeared to work while quite wet.
CONCLUSION
Northern Diver seems to have filled the cold-water and warmer-water requirements with the 100, 200 and 100 suits.
The Flectalon range of undersuits is available in 100, 200 and 300 thermal options.
