One of the best cold water wetsuits
By Charles Hood - Scuba Magazine on 01 Aug. 2016
I’ve been diving on and off with an older Delta-Flex now for around five years and it has been one of my favourite to take to the Red Sea in winter. The new version looks and feels pretty similar. The one-piece suit has an average thickness of 5.5mm and the shortie has an average of 6mm. The secret of the Delta-Flex is its integrated upper vest. Made of thin neoprene with a single lined seal, you pull it over your head when donning the suit. When the suit is zipped up this upper vest makes it nearly watertight around the neck. To be honest I didn’t think it would last more than a few dives, but the previous model is still going strong. There are inverted seals around the ankles and wrists along with my pet hate – zips. Granted, zips do make putting a suit on easier but I find when removing the suit they just dig into your ankles and wrists. All seams are triple-glued and blind-stitched, making them pretty much watertight – the super-soft neoprene is incredibly flexible. At only five and a half millimetres thick, the Delta-Flex struggled to keep me as warm as the others but wait, for the price Northern Diver throw in a thicker over-shortie and hood – how good is that? This makes the combination good for most people in water temperatures in the lower teens. The outer material of my older suit was a little prone to abrasion but the new suit has a generous coating of rubber stripes and discs on the shoulders and knees respectively. Being the least expensive and including shortie and hood, the Delta-Flex is the bargain of the bunch here on test.
Really Good Quality Semi-Dry
By Mark Clayton on 15 Jun. 2016
Used it 4 dives so far, 2 inland and 2 Sea. Only used the base suit and hood, hardly felt the water and was warm as toast. Very impressed with the quality, great fit too. On the web page it is not obvious that this package includes a matching shorty and hood. The picture of the older model shows that better. I was lucky that I could call in to Northern Diver (Wigan) to see it in the flesh/neoprene..
Great quality

Bought for "varied" diving and took the whole kit to Malta recently, never used the shorty oversuit and was never cold. Must admit water temp was never below 16c but others with standard 5mm did complain of the cold on a couple of occasions. In fact the water in the legs after the dive was actually pretty warm and we never experienced any flush through. Great place to buy, from people who actually dive and who can also get alterations carried out for the non-standard people like me!
