Welcome to Northern Diver
Northern Diver's reputation as one of the world's elite diving equipment drysuit manufacturers stems from our deep-seated passion for diving.
After 45 years, we are now established as one of the most innovative, competitive and reliable names around, which means you can look forward to years of enjoyable use when you choose to dive with our equipment and kit. Scuba diving has developed dramatically during the last four decades - Northern Diver has worked hard to help shape it. Our passion for diving, combined with our need to learn and our love of interacting with customers and partners, is what has allowed us to make the difference is our broad range of experience and the innovative drive of the team.
It's only because we understand divers’ needs for both made to measure and off-the-peg drysuits, as well as everything else needed to maximise pleasure and safety when diving, that we've been able to develop such an advanced range and responsive customer service.
"We never get complacent. Our research and development department is always consulting with divers like you to assess the direction in which to take the drysuits of the future. Using this feedback, we look to improve the range by continually embracing new materials and employing more advanced manufacturing processes and technology."
We were the first to introduce a made-to-measure service.
We also led the way by understanding that drysuits should be developed as systems, rather than individual items. The Constant Fit Tension Flex system on our HID drysuit is a good example of us addressing your needs. The latest state-of-the-art Thermicore undersuits are another.
We are adamant about getting details right.
One area in which this is evident is our carefully considered positioning of valves and pockets. Adherence to such a philosophy is why, for example, our neo-vulcanised heavy-duty boots are considered to be the most comfortable and durable on the market. We insist that all suppliers meet the same exacting standards. By working closely with them, we have been able to develop components such as the market-leading swivel inflation valve, which is now a standard feature on all our drysuits. More recently, we’ve been working closely with technical engineers to bring you the best and most up to date valves available in the 21st century.
Northern Diver is increasingly the choice of top diving personalities and commercial divers.
The renowned, life-saving properties of our drysuits have been responsible for saving many divers exposed to extreme conditions. For example, experienced BBC underwater cameramen have used Northern Diver protection in Antarctica to isolate themselves from water nearing -2°C. Commercial divers trust our drysuits and equipment in order to perform essential underwater works on a daily basis. Cave divers use our drysuits deep below ground in unforgiving environments where darkness, cold and abrasive rock are the norm. And, of course, thousands of club divers the world over extol the virtues of our Ultimate Diving System.
Whether you're taking a first dive in notoriously not-so-warm British waters, a veteran of deep water expeditions or a holiday diver in warmer seas, you need to have total faith in your suit and kit. Northern Diver attention to detail gives you this assurance.
Our HQ Facilities

Test Diving Tank
We broke ground on our Diving Tank facility in 2014, and after rigorous safety tests and thoroughly skillful construction efforts, it was ready and opened for use in June 2021.
It reaches a depth of 22.5 meters, or 74 feet, and is open to simulations for rescue, commercial testing, and military applications. We also utilise our tank for exclusive demonstration days among various industry professionals. (Sorry, invite only!)
Of course, our tank does also mean that we are able to test our latest innovations and products as soon as possible on site, with instantaneous feedback for our engineers from our highly experienced divers, making our development and research processes efficient, accurate, and giving them an incredibly quick turnaround compared to our competitors.
We've also heard it's rather exciting to touch the bottom!

Cylinder Testing Facilities
Our cylinder testing facility was opened in 2021 and has been held to the highest standards of ASSET (Association of Scuba Service Engineers & Technicians) ever since.
Northern Diver's engineers are a highly knowledgable and skilled team, testing both personal tanks and in bulk; for sports divers, military applications, and contractors alike - to make sure that your underwater lifeline is in the safest and most ideal condition.
Utilising the latest water-pressure testing techniques, our technicians carefully and thoroughly check for internal and external damage, rusting, corrosion from salt or brackish conditions, and general wear and tear. They will also check the valves and rings, right down to the thread of the attachments.
We also test gun pressure canisters.
So, whether you're looking to ensure your 10-year-old tank is ready for another diving holiday; or want 2,000 tanks testing ready for combat applications? We're here to test, repair, clean, and replace your tanks to the greatest technical specifications.
