Craig and Dan from Northern Diver's Specialist Rescue Equipment department have just returned from FDIC, a six-day fire and rescue conference and exhibition in Indianapolis, in the state of Indiana, USA.
The widely respected event is regarded as America's unique meeting place for the industry, and this year FDIC welcomed over 34,425 people from nearly 60 countries.
Indianapolis's Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium played host to the event, which included a firefighter combat challenge, honour guard competition and even a Battle of the Bands!
Our booth was located in the Lucas Oil Stadium, home to the Indianapolis Colts NFL American Football team. The 70,000-capacity stadium boasts a retractable roof and a retractable window, offering a view of downtown Indianapolis.
One of the main highlights of the event came at the 9/11 memorial stair climb, undertaken by fire crew attendees from all over the US and beyond, plus other guests, to remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on that day while protecting the lives of others.
