Matt is Powerboat Level 2 Qualified!

We are pleased to congratulate our very own Rescue team member, Matthew Burrows, on completing his RYA Powerboating Level 2 course!
Matt completed the 2 day course at Sea Training International Ltd in Y Felinheli, Wales, alongside members of the Welsh IFCA. RYA Powerboating Level 2 training includes mastering boat handling under way, launch and recovery and both high and low speed manoeuvres.
Matt has been part of the Northern Diver Specialist Rescue team for over 2 years and in that time has now completed both his Water Rescue Technician and 2 RYA Powerboating courses. He has also gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things rescue, allowing him to safely carry out demonstrations on the water.
He had this to say, “I’d like to thank Paul and Sam for providing an excellent training environment and sharing their wealth of experience in the sector. I undertook the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course as I recognise the importance of building sufficient safety training and understanding how to operate powered boats.
“This is especially important in demonstration environments, where clients’ previous experience levels can vary significantly. The course has given me a great foundation to continue building my technical knowledge and experience in a growing sector at Northern Diver. I’d highly recommend Sea Training International and all of their available accredited training courses. I look forward to continuing my own training with them”.
