As per my review from 2 years ago I bought 2 for my wife. Last week found that the magnetic connector wasn’t working well. Phoned Neil to discuss and got 4 new ones in the post today. Excellent product support and customer service.
Smashing little torch

I won a varilux micro in a raffle recently, which I was very pleased about. I already have a bigblue AL1300NP that has an almost identical form factor, but is nearly twice the price. I'm impressed with the varilux; it's not as bright as the bigblue, but you have to look hard to notice. The button is positive and (oh, joy!) doesn't force you to cycle through an epileptic flashing mode to turn it off. The intensity variation isn't particularly fast to respond, but I haven't bothered with it; the torch will easily light a 60 minute dive on full power, and the magnetic charger is great, fast and dry. My only minor criticism is that the charging port is directly opposite the on/off button, and in poor vis looks almost identical; I have tried to use it to turn the torch on, with limited success. But it's a minor gripe.
Great little torch

Have been using this torch in the UK for a couple of years - in UK conditions it's great as a spare/backup torch. In warmer climes when luggage weight is limited it's great as a primary. Very robust, surprisingly bright tight spot and dimmable when you don't want to loose your night vision. Great for any outdoor sports - sailing, camping, ... Highly recommended.
Brilliant little torch

Used this for the first time on a Liverboard on night dives and worked great as a primary light. It lasts for two hours on green and about 50 mins on red so no worries about when to change it. Very light and small which makes it great for putting in your pocket or clipping it to a D ring. The other good thing is you don’t have to bring batteries with you being a sealed unit.

Bought 2 of these, for my wife, at the dive show. Just been using them on night dives in Bali. Nice bright light in a small package. The boss loves them. Recommended.
