At Northern Diver (International) Ltd, we’ve been designing and manufacturing world-class diving equipment since 1985. Alongside our internationally recognised diving products, we also customise, repair and maintain specialist inflatable boats and craft trusted by military organisations, emergency services, commercial operators and recreational customers worldwide.
We’re looking for a Workshop Operative to join our friendly, experienced team. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll work on a wide range of inflatable boats and craft, from repairing inflatables returned from operational use to helping build and customise new boats ready for delivery.
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, learn new skills and see the results of your work take shape. Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, repairs, boat building, marine work or a similar workshop environment is useful, but not essential. What matters most is that you’re practical, reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
What You'll Be Doing
Every day brings something different.
You could be:
> Preparing inflatable boats for repair after returning from operational use.
> Assembling and customising new boats ready for customer delivery.
> Fitting components, accessories and bespoke features to meet individual customer requirements.
> Carrying out repairs and helping to restore inflatables used in demanding environments.
> Performing quality checks to ensure every repair and fitting meets our high standards.
> Preparing completed boats for dispatch.
> Using a range of tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
> Moving and positioning inflatable boats using correct manual handling techniques.
> Working closely with colleagues to complete projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
> Assist the repairs manager with any tasks that need completing to prepare drysuits ready for alterations

You’ll need:
> Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to doing a job properly.
> A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn new skills.
> A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
> The ability to work effectively as part of a friendly, supportive team.
> The ability to work independently and manage your workload when required.
> Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
> A willingness to undertake physical work, including lifting, moving and positioning inflatable boats safely.
> A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop.
Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, assembly, repairs, boat building or marine environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
FULL TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN on product knowledge

We’re also just a 5-minute drive from Junction 27 of the M6, making us easily accessible by car from across the local area.
Hours & Salary
Full-time, onsite
Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm
Starting from £26,500 per annum.
Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
Immediate start available for the right candidate.
